A 3RD DISTRICT THAT IS NO LONGER AN AFTERTHOUGHT.

Goode for KC

City Council 3rd District at Large

Chris Goode is a Kansas City community builder, small business owner, and civic leader with nearly two decades of hands-on service across neighborhoods, culture, and public life.

Since returning home in 2006 from college, Chris has worked to transform overlooked spaces into places of health, safety, and opportunity, founding Ruby Jean’s Juicery, the first 100% health-focused food business on Kansas City’s East Side; revitalizing blighted properties through sweat equity and community trust; and helping deliver real improvements to public spaces, infrastructure, and access.

From serving on city boards and commissions to encouraging and engaging with youth from kindergarten through college, Chris’s leadership is grounded in action, not rhetoric. He believes real progress happens when we show up, do the work, and stay long enough to see it through.

Chris Goode is running for City Council to bring that same integrity, imagination, and follow-through to City Hall with a desire to effect balance for Kansas City’s 3rd district through a shared responsibility model.

TOGETHER FOR GOODE

These are some of the top priorities our campaign is focused on.

Fighting for the interest of all of Kansas City.

Wellness & Quality of Life

Shared responsibility for our individual well-being and community infrastructure.  Longevity should not be a privilege. It should be a right. We believe in clean, safe, and healthy neighborhoods built together, where opportunity is shared and infrastructure reflects the Third District as the soul of the city. Placemaking should honor constituents, place, and an equitable landscape for everyone who calls Kansas City home.

considerate economic development

Include us, don’t displace us.  Growth should lift people up, not push them out. Economic development must create balance across all districts and be felt at the doorsteps of residents, not just in headlines or downtown celebrations. This kind of growth only happens when development is reimagined from the ground up and centered on quality of life.

Transparent & engaged governance

Transparency is key.  Local government should be clear, accessible, and accountable. Policies should be shaped with residents, businesses, and organizations, not around them. We believe in engagement that invites more people in, asks a little from many, and moves participation from comments to real influence at the moments when decisions are actually being made.

SAFETY & BELONGING

Community-centered safety.  Everyone deserves to feel safe where they live, work, gather, and do business. True safety is built through collaboration, thoughtful design, and vibrant neighborhoods that reduce violence by expanding opportunity. Safety and belonging go hand in hand.

Let's do something about it.

Kansas City thrives when its people show up—and we need you! Whether it’s lending a hand at a neighborhood cleanup, helping at an event, or knocking on doors to connect with your neighbors, your time and energy make real change tangible!
